Obituary
Omir Francois Desravines, 54, of New York City, died on May 2, 2021 at Mount Sinai Morningside (formerly St Luke’s Hospital).
He was born at St Luke’s Hospital on January 15, 1967, the oldest child of Jeanine and Francois Desravines.
He attended SUNY Purchase and the New York Institute if Technology. He went on to work mainly as a freelance computer consultant but that was definitely not his only profession. He also worked as security, a bouncer, a life advisor, a financial advisor and most of all, a therapist. He was available at all hours (even in the wee hours of the morning) for all those who needed his help.
He loved heavy metal music but would also listen to classical. He loved horror movies, science fiction (like Star Trek, Dr. Who and Babylon 5), strategy games (like Dungeons and Dragons and World of Warcraft). And he loved comics and comic book movies. Dr Strange was his absolute favorite. And he loved geeking out at New York Comic Con.
He is survived by his sister. Marie-Jeanne; his girlfriend Sandi Wighton, his cousins: Julienne Davilma, Odiquais Maxime, Yvanna Fleureus; his uncle Jean Beaudouin, aunts Denise Beaudouin, Winie Beaudouin,Celavie Desravines and numerous cousins.
