Sandra Greer

Obituary

Sandra Greer, loving mother and grandmother, devoted sister, and doting aunt, passed away on March 30, 2022, leaving behind more friends, and more lives she had touched, than anyone could possibly count.

Sandra was first and foremost a wonderful mother, but she was also a pioneering businesswoman; a generous and gracious hostess – welcoming friends and family to her home in East Hampton, where she always made new people feel like family; a committed philanthropist; a largely self-taught artist and photographer; and an intrepid world traveler.

Born and raised in Manhattan, and finding herself divorced with four young children, Sandra got her real estate license and, in 1970, opened her own business, Sandra Greer Real Estate, Inc. Fearless, beautiful, and tough-minded, it never occurred to her that it might not work – so it just did. She instilled that same optimistic, “can do” attitude in her children, and in all those around her. Her singular strength of will, which she would readily share if you needed some, is what drew people to her.

Sandra is survived by her children Amy (Mark Murphy), Ida, Andrew (Allison), and Lawrence (Emily), and stepdaughter Jessica Wolfe (Eric), and grandchildren, Zachary, Haley, Blake, Darcy, Ashley, Joey, Harrison, and Charlotte. She will be missed by an enormous community of family, friends, and business associates.
