Obituary
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Stuart Craig Gerchick, who passed away on December 17, 2021, at the age of 51, after a courageous fight with illness. During his last moments, Stuart was surrounded by his family and friends, especially his wife Zoe and son Benjamin, whose love and bond with him will last forever.
Stuart was born in The Bronx, New York, and graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a Bachelor’s (1992), and then a Master’s of Science (1993) in Accounting. From there, he went on to earn an MBA from New York University in 2001.
Stuart worked for Bloomberg LP for more than 28 years, where he devoted his passion tirelessly and wholeheartedly to his work. Over the course of his career, Stuart made an impact on various elements of Bloomberg’s business, from developing a Japanese messaging system to spearheading the company’s London Engineering division. He was brilliant and intelligent, with an inspiring and limitless desire to keep learning — especially about the emerging markets.
Stuart had a big heart filled with love and generosity. He fiercely and unconditionally loved his wife, Zoe, as he did his sons, Benjamin and the late Samuel. Together, they shared many laughs and tears; they explored the world; and they learned about different cultures. Their family was and always will be one; not even death will do them apart.
Stuart held his family dearly. Born to parents Marvin and Lola, he is survived by his younger brother, Keith, and leaves behind many cherished friends, who generously shared in his broad interests and knowledge, and whom he welcomed with open arms and heart.
Stuart was a special soul, and though his time on earth was limited, his legacy will be remembered. Above all, Stuart was a loving husband and father, and he will be truly missed; his memories will be celebrated among all the lives he touched.
A visitation for Stuart will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Frank E. Campbell – The Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10028, followed by a funeral service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
